Clubs and Activities
We try to keep the students involved by offering many chances for them to join after school activities. We have tutoring as well as clubs for fun. We want all students to become a part of them, not only because it offers a chance to do things at school that are fun, but also because looks great on college applications!
After school Clubs and Activities available at Schuylerville!
School Newspaper: The SPHS Times is a student led newspaper. Students explore the world of journalism with topics important to them. They interview teachers and students, setup and work with technology to take the newspaper to print.
Student Government: Students elect our student government. They work directly with teachers, the principal and administrators to decide on topics that are important to the student body.
Community Service Club: This club makes positive citizens and human beings. It presents a chance for students to get out into the community and work to make it beautiful and better. (Part of the National Honor Society)
Creative Writing/Book Club: This club runs activities that engage students in reading and writing creative pieces and talking about personal experiences.
Multicultural Club: Students share their cultural backgrounds, and learn about different cultures. Club also focuses on foods, music, clothes and historical developments.
Music Club: Do you play an instrument? Have a passion for music? Our music club allows students a chance to explore their musical side. They play their instruments, learn about musical forms and explore their passion.
PSAT/SAT Prep: College prep is important for us at SPHS. Teachers guide students through strategies that will help them in both the Math and English. Teachers work to help students understand errors in thinking not just right answers.
National Honor Society: What does singer Taylor Swift, former first lady Michelle Obama, and baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr., have in common? They were all members of the NHS. This is the organization that the world’s highest achieving students have been proudly adding to their résumés since 1921.
Tutoring in all Subjects: We offer support to our students both during the day and after school. Tutoring happens after school, and gives students and chance to get help with homework, exams, test prep or review of that day’s lesson.
STEM club: Our STEM club explores some of the foundation of science and technology through fun and original experiments and school trips. We also have a link to Einstein Medical Center where students get hands-on experience in the medical field.
What is Fancloth?
FanCloth is a way for places to raise money by having people purchase good clothing that represents them. Every year we invite staff and families to buy our clothes and represent our school wherever you go.
